A young mining executive has been arrested and charged with allegedly smuggling 23kg of cocaine with a street value of more than $7 million to Australia from the United States in the post.  Bennet Schwartz, a capital projects analyst with mining giant Rio Tinto, was arrested by Australian Federal Police at Sydney's domestic airport.
The 29-year-old private school educated man was pulled off a plane on September 2 while travelling with his blonde fiancee, who he was weeks away from marrying.

Schwartz is now behind bars in a Sydney prison and faces life in jail. Australian Federal Police officers arrested him at Sydney's domestic airport on September 2 when he was pulled off a flight, which his paediatric nurse fiancee Sarah Wakefield was also on.

The glamorous couple were living in a riverfront apartment in the wealthy inner-city Brisbane suburb of New Farm.

The couple's wedding was meant to have been held in October but was hastily cancelled after he was handcuffed and bundled away by police, the News Corp story said.
